"Unity is strength" is a powerful statement that accurately describes the collaboration between Pietro, Giuseppe e Lorenza - the Enoliti. They are based in Scicli, southeast Sicilia. The trio combined their expertise to create Enoliti Botanici. The goal of this venture is to revive the ancient tradition of medicinal wine-based drinks that have been consumed for millennia, particularly in the Mediterranean.
Lorenza, who holds a degree in pharmacy and botanical techniques, uses her vast knowledge of plants and roots to carefully dose the cold maceration of local wines. Giuseppe and Pietro have been working in the artisan wine industry for several years.
Enoliti Botanici is a line of pure products that contain no added alcohol or sugar, with an alcohol level that stays below 15%.
The versatility of Enoliti Botanici is one of its strengths. These drinks can be enjoyed in various ways, such as with tonic water and ice, or even heated as a punch with a spoonful of honey, or simply by themselves. In particular, Santa Ildegarda is a bitter amaro that is perfect for after-dinner digestion, while Berbere, when mixed with tonic and ice, is "La morte sua" (unbeatable).
Enoliti Botanici's dedication to quality is evident in their use of only the best base wines, such as Nero d'Avola from the cantina Valdibella for Santa Ildegarda and Marsala from Vite ad Ovest for Berbere. Once opened (based on our tests), the bottles can last for several months, making it easy to enjoy these unique and delicious drinks at any time.
