Age check: Dutch law requires recipients to be 18 or older. PostNL will verify this at delivery using the official leeftijdscheck.

We ship within the Netherlands. For now, that is it.

Until recently, we could send a box anywhere in the EU. On 12 August 2026, a new European packaging regulation came into force. It requires every business that sends a parcel to another EU country to register with that country's packaging authority and appoint a local representative there, in every single country. There is no exemption for small volumes. Two bottles to Belgium count the same as two million.

For a shop our size, that means twenty-six separate registrations, twenty-six sets of fees, twenty-six sets of paperwork in twenty-six systems. The maths does not work, so we have paused it rather than do it badly.

We are all for a cleaner and more responsible future. That is part of what Corkin is. We think producers should pay for the packaging they put into the world. But the weight of this one falls on small companies in the same way it falls on very large ones, and what is a formality for a big company is too much for us.

We are not happy about it, and it hits us where we care most, sharing our wines with everyone. We have submitted feedback to the European Commission saying so here.

This is hopefully temporary. Parts of the rule are still being debated in Brussels, and a threshold for small businesses may still be introduced. If it does, we turn shipping back on and say so here.
