Azienda Agricola Monte dei Ragni
Monte dei Ragni is Valpolicella at its most authentic. For five generations, the Ragno family has worked the steep hillsides of Fumane, where vines climb between dry stone walls, olive trees, and cherry orchards that turn the valley into a sea of blossoms each spring. In the early 1900s, their wines were poured in the taverns of Verona.
The name comes from the hill itself, recorded in the Austrian cadastre, and from Santo Ragno, the ancestor who saw the future of these slopes in grapes. Today, the estate covers just 6 - 7 hectares, but with over 5,000 vines per hectare, careful green work, and low yields, the focus is all on quality.
In the cellar, the same philosophy applies: soft pressing, minimal pumping, wise use of wood. With the guidance of winemakers Fabio Bigolin and Umberto Menini, Monte dei Ragni creates Valpolicella that feels both timeless and alive, wines shaped by tradition, passion, and the rugged beauty of their hillside home.
