Antoniotti
Saying that we love the wines of Antoniotti is not just a catchy slogan to win you over; we say it with conviction, having visited the winery more times than we can count! 🤣
Odilio (now over 80 years old, and you’d hardly guess it) and his son Mattia are the heart and soul of this estate. Their passion is genuine and contagious, and yes, they have always patiently put up with all our questions.
We are in Alto Piemonte, about an hour from Torino. The Antoniotti family has been making wine for generations. If you have the chance to meet Odilio, get ready for fascinating stories.
This is the heart of Bramaterra DOC, an appellation whose official recognition Odilio actively helped secure alongside other historic growers in the area.
The winery embodies a true “old school” philosophy, reminiscent of traditional Piedmontese producers such as Giuseppe Rinaldi and Cappellano; genuine friendships, mutual respect, and a clear production ethos: the wine must be good, honest, and free from standardizing manipulations.
Here, Nebbiolo reigns supreme, supported by small percentages of Vespolina and Croatina in the blend, which add spice and structure. The porphyry soils give the wines remarkable freshness, tension, and vibrant minerality, combining elegance with character.
Go visit the Antoniotti family, listen to their beautiful stories… and enjoy a nice glass of wine.
