Rosso di Montalcino

Sometimes Rosso di Montalcino is the bottle you actually want to open, even before Brunello enters the room. Tommaso left pharmacy behind and returned to the family business in Montalcino. The vineyards sit on the northern, cooler side of the area, which matters more and more in warm years. The wine is pure Sangiovese.
 
 Sangiovese and food, that is the whole point. Medium-bodied, lively and easy to bring to the table. Open it with a hearty pasta, a bowl of soup, grilled vegetables or meat. It does not need ceremony, it needs dinner.
