Turresti

Frascati has a reputation problem. For decades, the town supplied Rome with easy, forgettable wine by the tanker load, despite volcanic soil that always had more to give. Marta and Federico, the couple behind Sassosopra, are part of the reason that is changing. Turresti is their blend of two local grapes, Malvasia Puntinata and Bombino, aged in steel.

A short spell of skin contact gives it real texture and rounds out the aromatics without tipping into heavy or overpowering. Vibrant and fresh, it is made to be enjoyed at the table.
