Munjebel MC

Frank Cornelissen changed style a few years ago, and the wines became sharper in the right way. Munjebel MC is pure Nerello Mascalese from the Monte Colla cru on Etna, a steep terraced vineyard exposed to sun and wind. The vines were planted in 1946, and the place gives a wine with power but not heaviness.
 
 This is for an important table. Powerful, yes, but still elegant in the old meaning of the word: controlled, not loud. Meat, game and cheese are all good ideas.
