Gioia del Colle Primitivo

Puglia makes a lot of wine, but bottles like this are not the norm. Pasquale at Fatalone works with Primitivo in Gioia del Colle, and we have tasted old vintages that surprised us. This is southern Italian red with energy, not just warmth and alcohol.
 
Tannic, full-bodied and fruity, but still fresh enough to stay alive at the table. Go with serious meat dishes here. This is not the moment to be shy.
