Langhe Nebbiolo

Alberto Crissante works in La Morra, one of the villages of the Barolo area, and makes around 40,000 bottles in total. His Langhe Nebbiolo shows the softer La Morra side of the grape, more graceful than the versions from places like Serralunga or Monforte. This is Piemonte in a very clear glass.
 
Violets and red fruit on the nose, tannins that are present but not aggressive. Traditional Piemontese food is the easy answer, but meat, stew and mushrooms also make sense.
