Rosato di Ampeleia

Ampeleia makes this rosato on the Tuscan coast, about 40 kilometres from the sea. The grapes are Carignano and Alicante Nero, also known as Grenache, varieties that feel at home with Mediterranean scrub and warm coastal air. This is rosato with place, not just colour.
 
A summer bottle, yes, but not a silly one. Open it with light seasonal dishes, a garden vegetable salad or an omelette. Simple food, sun if possible.
