Roma has got something

Cesanese del Piglio is the red grape of Lazio, and La Visciola is about an hour from Roma. Vicinale is the more casual label from the estate, the one we would open first for someone meeting Cesanese for the first time. Casual does not mean simple. It just means the door is easier to open.
 
 Medium-bodied, with cherry and orange peel on the nose. It works well with meat and risotto, especially when you want a Lazio red that is serious without becoming heavy.
