Lacryma Christi del Vesuvio

Cantine Matrone sits at the foot of Mount Vesuvius, the active volcano that shapes this part of Campania. Andrea came back after working abroad and started making wine from local grapes. This Lacryma Christi del Vesuvio is a red from Aglianico and Piedirosso, made in a place where the soil never lets you forget the volcano.
 
Fresh, not too alcoholic, with dark fruit and an iron-like edge on the palate. Open it with ragù. It has enough energy for the sauce without becoming too heavy.
