The king of red grapes in Lazio: Cesanese del Piglio. We are located about an hour away from Roma. Vicinale is the more casual, "easier" label from La Visciola. If I were to introduce this grape to a friend for the first time, I’d start with this wine. That doesn’t mean it’s not a serious wine—quite the opposite, in fact. These wines easily compete with those from Piemonte and Toscana.
