It might be an inaccurate comparison, but we'll try anyway: you know when you meet someone you don't really like or someone who's “famous”, and when you truly get to know them, you think, “I was wrong, now that I've really got to know you, you're really a nice person!”? Well, visiting the HISTORICAL cellar in Barolo of Bartolo Mascarello is a bit like that. Mind you, we don't mean to say that we had negative impressions, but rather that there are many things online about this sacred monster of Italian winemaking—some accurate, many incorrect, and some dull things, etc. I won't add anything. I can only say that it was a truly light and precious visit. Always nice to discover the history.
